HI-International Youth Hostel
at Jericho Beach
With a spectacular view of the ocean, mountains, and city skyline, Vancouver
Jericho Beach offers a location for visitors to fully enjoy the gateway
city to Western Canada. Located near Jericho Beach, and only a ten minute
drive or one hour walk from downtown Vancouver, the Hostel offers easy
access to the city's many theatres, clubs, and restaurants, as well as
to the University of British Columbia, world class hiking, skiing, and
fishing. Vancouver Jericho Beach offers modern, attractive, and efficient
facilities for individuals, families, schools or club groups. A cafeteria
is available to guests providing tasty, economical meals. A fully equipped
kitchen is also available for those who wish to do their own cooking.
Facilities
There are 285 beds, divided
into separate dorms, and separate washrooms for men and women (each dorm
divided into sections of 4 beds). There are a limited number of private
rooms available (advance booking is required to ensure one will be available).
A seasonal cafeteria is available ( May to September), a guests' kitchen,
T.V. room, lounge area, bicycle rental, laundry room, and personal lockers
(one provided with each bed). Vancouver Jericho Beach also offers organized
guest activities. Bed linen is available for free and towels may be rented
for 50 cents. Coin operated deposit boxes are available for small valuables.There
is also free shuttle bus service to downtown Vancouver, and the bus/train
station.
