What is the TOEIC Test?
Listening: There are 100 listening comprehension questions administered by audiocassette. There are four types of questions. Examinees listen to a variety of statements, questions, short conversations, and short talks recorded in English, and then respond to questions. Reading: There are 100 reading questions, consisting of three types of questions. Examinees read a variety of materials and respond to questions. Examinees respond to test questions by marking one of the letters (A), (B), (C), or (D) with a pencil. Does the TOEIC Test Measure Speaking and Writing?
The decision to test only listening and reading directly on the TOEIC test was a response to the needs of test takers for a rapid, reliable test. The TOEIC test provides an indirect measure of speaking and writing.
