Teacher's Biography

 

Why did you become an ESL teacher?

I was a financial planner for several years prior to becoming a teacher but I found it stressful and unsatisfying, so I decided to start a career in a more enjoyable and rewarding job teaching English.

How long have you been teaching English?
Since 2002.


How long have you been teaching English at VEC?
Since 2005.

Have you taught in foreign countries? How long? Which country?

I also taught in Peru, South America for 2 years.

What was your major in university or college?

Business - Financial Management

What do you like best about teaching?

Seeing students improve and watching them be able to work and speak and understand the English language better.

What is your favourite topic to discuss with students in your class?

I like teaching all topics but grammar and pronunciation are fun. It is always enjoyable to see students learn new things.

What is your hobby?

I go hiking and I try to travel a lot.

What advice do you have for new students?

The IELTS is a tough exam, but with the right preparation and a lot of studying you can get good results.
