Why
did you become an ESL teacher?
A friend of mine who was teaching in South Korea phoned and
said they needed a new teacher right away. Two weeks later,
I was in Seoul. After I returned to Vancouver, I got my TESL
certificate and started teaching.

long have you been teaching English?
Since 1997.

Since
1999.
Have you taught in foreign countries? How long? Which
country?
Yes. I taught ESL for a year in South Korea.
What was your major in university or college?
English Literature.
What do you like best about teaching?
Meeting people from different cultures; being admired.
What is your favourite topic to discuss with students
in your class?
Popular Culture.
What is your hobby?
Hiking, being in a book club.
What advice do you have for new students?
Be curious; keep an open mind; be patient with yourself if
possible.
