Why did you become an ESL teacher?
I have always been interested in how the English language works. I also enjoy meeting people from different cultures.

Since 1987.
How long have you been teaching English at VEC?
Since
2005.
Have you taught in foreign countries? How long? Which country?
Yes. Japan for 10 and a half years.
What was your major in university or college?
English Literature and European History.
What do you like best about teaching?
The best thing about teaching is meeting new people all the time and helping them improve their English.
What is your favourite topic to discuss with students in your class?
I like talking to them about their impressions of Vancouver and Canada. I also like talking about their countries.
What is your hobby?
Photography, movies, and tennis.
What advice do you have for new students?
Learning a language doesn't stop after you leave the classroom. Use English as much as you can. Some of the best learning takes place outside the classroom.
