Why
did you become an ESL teacher?
I am a trained teacher with a Bachelor of Education and have
enjoyed teaching others the little “tricks” on learning English
since I was about 8 years old.
How long have you been teaching English?
Since 1990.
How long have you been teaching English at VEC?
Since 1999.
Have you taught in foreign countries? How long? Which
country?
Japan for 3 years and Mexico for a year and a half.
What was your major in university or college?
Education, French, English and Early Childhood Education.
What do you like best about teaching?
Meeting new people and seeing the improvements that people
make.
What is your favourite topic to discuss with your
student in your class?
Canadian life and life in another countries.
What is your hobby?
Dancing, traveling, learning language, singing etc.
What
advice do you have for new students?
Welcome to Vancouver English Centre! I'm excited to meet you
and hear all about your country. You have great opportunities
before you. Make lots of friends from different countries
and participate in every event that comes your way. Your understanding
of Canadian culture, vocabulary and pronunciation will improve
rapidly. Enjoy!
